Dear all,
We hope you are keeping safe and well. Following from our previous updates, we are taking our first steps towards getting our kids back to exercising.
Clearly, the risk of infection has not gone away. It is something we take very seriously, therefore with the welfare of our juniors, parents and coaching team in mind, we have implemented a number of changes designed to make our environment as COVID-secure as possible.
Details are available below after this email, along with our re-opening plans. We would be very grateful if you could take a moment to read through these steps carefully, and to make sure that children are fully aware of the situation regarding the new guidelines.
As part of a phased re-start, we will be holding two initial sessions on November 7th and 14th. Following a short review, which provides an opportunity for the coaches to assess the viability, it is then our intention to proceed the next phase, introducing a more complete schedule of sessions.
You will find information on how to book below and we look forward to welcoming you back safely.
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your patience – we know these changes may take some getting used to, but we are committed to everyone’s health and safety, and we believe with the appropriate measures in place we will be able to continue to offer a safe training environment for all. If you would like clarification on anything in this message, any aspect of the guidance, or if you have any questions, please get in touch.
With best wishes,
Albury Junior Badminton
1. READ: Our COVID-19 Guidelines
We have drawn up a set of guidelines, which are based on official government advice as well as guidance from BADMINTON England and Sport England. Everyone attending the club must behave in accordance with these guidelines to keep each other safe. We request that parents read them in full and children are made aware of their content before attending a session. You can access the guidelines on our website, where you can also find details of our COVID-19 risk assessment.

2. BOOK: Session dates and times
Our two initial re-start sessions will take place on the 7th and 14th of November. We will send out invitation emails separately, as different groups have slightly different entering and exiting procedures. Interested parents/players can reserve their place now by replying to the invitation emails indicating whether they would like to attend the first, second or both sessions. We will only be able to offer a limited number of places. Each session is £6 per person and payment is exclusively via bank transfer, with account details emailed to those with confirmed places. We will also be operating a waiting list for any cancellations. The invitation emails will be sent out shortly.
3. PLAY: Following the guidelines and social distancing
Further to our COVID-19 Guidelines, we would like to remind everybody to stay outside the building until their child has been advised to enter, remaining at least 2m apart at all times. Each player will have their temperature checked at the entrance before being allowed to take part in the session. Please note that these additional measures make it very difficult for us to engage in conversation with parents at the door – unless it is a particularly urgent matter. We would urge you instead to contact us via email and we will respond as soon as possible.
