Welcome to the Albury Junior Badminton Club
Based in Redhill (Surrey), we run training sessions for three different levels: beginners, improvers, and competitors, they are held every Saturday morning.
Saturday training sessions
Training time
Beginners: 09.00 to 10.15
Improvers: 10.15 to 11.30
Competitors: 11.30 to 13.00
Club trials
We host our trials throughout the season, please contact us to book. We accept trials for beginners under the age of 11. Trials will be held at St Bede’s School Sports Centre, Redhill, RH1 2LQ. I’m afraid any players arriving without confirmation will be turned away.
Membership
The membership fee for each full term is £75 for 12 sessions. Missed sessions will not be credited. However, please do contact us if you find that your child is unable to attend a significant number of sessions due to an illness. Our club is wholly run by volunteers, we need to cover the running costs, your child’s membership to BADMINTON England and Surrey Badminton, we can allow for unforeseen circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
Club rules
- Winning at all costs is not encouraged; intimidation of other players; use of foul and abusive language will not be tolerated;
- No eating during training sessions. Please bring water for replenishment;
- Not to use mobile phones during training unless it is an emergency; and
- Be punctual and wear clothing that is comfortable and allows freedom of movement (shorts/skirts, indoor trainers etc.). Players wearing inappropriate clothing (denim jeans, football boots etc.) will not be allowed to participate.
All coaches will continually review each player’s progress and we will advance players to the next group as soon as they are ready.
Although the majority of our players are from Redhill, Reigate, Horley and Merstham, some of our players come from the wider areas such as Kingswood, Burgh Heath, Epsom, Banstead, Coulsdon, Purley, Croydon, Caterham, Crawley, Dorking etc. We welcome players from all geographic locations.
