As you’ll know from our recent email and the Prime Minister’s announcement on Saturday, the latest government guidance means all indoor sports are currently suspended. This Albury Junior Badminton coronavirus update explains what that means for our club and what happens next.
Unfortunately, this means we’re unable to go ahead with our planned return sessions over the next two weeks. It’s disappointing for everyone, but our priority remains the safety of the children, families, and coaches.
We’re ready to return — just not yet
On a more positive note, all our risk assessments have been approved and our return-to-play plan has been signed off by the venue. When infection rates drop, and when the school confirms we can return, we’ll be ready to resume sessions quickly and safely.
We’ve already scheduled the format and booking process to ensure we can act fast once we get the green light.
Ongoing coronavirus update for Albury Junior Badminton
We’ll continue to monitor announcements and stay in close contact with St Bede’s School Sports Centre. We know how important badminton is for the children’s confidence and well-being, and we’ll aim to restart as soon as we’re allowed. We know it’s frustrating for players and families hoping to return. Please rest assured that as soon as government restrictions ease and we receive approval from the venue, we will get the club running again. The safety protocols we’ve set up will remain in place and we will share any updates by email and on our website.
For now, we hope you and your families remain safe and well over the coming weeks. For full venue details, see our club information page.
Thanks as always for your support and understanding.
Kind regards,
Albury Junior Badminton
