St Bede’s School Sports Centre has confirmed it can welcome us back, so Albury Junior Badminton Club will restart training on Saturday 12th December and Saturday 19th December. This Albury Junior Badminton coronavirus update explains what’s changing and how we’ll keep everyone safe.

The invitations will go out by email tomorrow. Please reply promptly so we can finalise numbers; capacity is limited while social-distancing rules remain in force.

Training times and venue

Both sessions run at the usual time of 09:00–10:15 in St Bede’s main sports hall. Parents should continue to park in the Carlton Road car park and use the main sports-hall doors. Full venue details are on our club information page.

Coronavirus safety measures for Albury Junior Badminton

  • Courts will be spaced out to ensure a clear two-metre buffer between groups.
  • Hand sanitiser will be provided at the door and courtside.
  • Shuttles are cleaned before each session and shared equipment is kept to a minimum.
  • Face coverings remain optional for juniors while playing but are required for adults waiting inside.

For a full summary of national guidance, see the latest UK Government advice on indoor sport.

Next steps

We hope these two December dates give every player a chance to finish the year on court. If the sessions run smoothly, we plan to resume our normal weekly schedule from January; subject to any further restrictions. We’ll post another Albury Junior Badminton coronavirus update if plans change again.

Thank you for your patience and continued support. We look forward to seeing the players back in action and rebuilding confidence after a long break.

Kind regards,

Albury Junior Badminton
